U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Day Use Parks There are 15 day use areas that are maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and located on Lake Allatoona and the Etowah River. All of the day use areas (with the exception of Upper Stamp Creek and Knox Bridge) are handicap accessible and many include picnic areas that are ideal places for barbecues and parties. Follow the links below for more information about the specific day use areas on Lake Allatoona. There is a $4 vehicle charge at day use areas with swim beaches and a $3 boat launching fee for day use areas with boat ramps. Annual passes are available through the Allatoona Lake Operations Project Management Office by telephoning 678-721-6700. The day use area closing time is 9pm for all, with the exception of Sweetwater, which closes at 8pm. For information about this season's open and close dates for the day use areas, click here.
