Hunters may hunt seasonally at the 7,000 acre Allatoona Wildlife and Management Center at the northeastern part of Lake Allatoona. Georgia Wildlife Management Area stamps are requried.
Hunting is also permissable in specific Corps-managed areas. Hunting in these areas require a valid state hunting license, and an Allatoona Lake Corps Hunting permit. To hunt in these areas, the weapons you are hunting with must be in accordance with the weapons designated for the area on the current hunting map.
Obtaining a Hunting Permit
Requests for permits are accepted from January 1st of every year to August 1st for the upcoming season. Permits are free and can be obtained by sending a self-addressed evelope with a business class stamp and a note 1) stating the envelope is for a hunting permit and 2) the hunters phone numbers. Hunters with permits from the year before can send the survey issue with their permit without the envelope. The first 400 permits will be processed and the remainding applications will be returned. Requests after August 1st will not be processed.
