Payne Campground

Located north of Acworth and west of Woodstock (off Kellogg Creek Road), Payne Campground has 60 campsites. 39 of these sites have electric and water hookups. The campground opens in March/April and closes in early September. It is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Rules

  • A maximum of 3 cars/6 people per campsite and a maximum of 6 visitors in addition to the registered camping party
  • The gates are locked at 10:30pm and re-opened at 7am
  • Check in time is 4pm or later and checkout time is 3pm
  • Two pets are allowed, but certain restrictions apply

Reservations

Some sites can be reserved. Reservations should be made at least three days in advance by calling 877-444-6777 or visiting www.recreation.gov. There is a two night minimum for weekends and a three night minimum for holidays. The maximum length of stay is 14days. Other sites are available on a first come, first serve basis.
