McKinney Campground

McKinney Campground is located near Acworth (off Glade Road SE) and is one of the larger campgrounds on the lake. Each of its 150 camp sites has electrical and water hookups. Some of the campsites are premium and offer water views. The campground is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and is open year-round.

Rules

  • A maximum of 3 cars/6 people per campsite and a maximum of 6 visitors in addition to the registered camping party
  • April 1- Sep 30: They will lock up the gates at 10:30pm and re-open them at 7am
  • Oct 1- March 31: They will lock up the gates at 9pm and re-open them at 9am
  • Check in time is 4pm or later and checkout time is 3pm
  • Two pets are allowed, but certain restrictions apply

Reservations

Some sites can be reserved. Reservations should be made at least three days in advance by calling 877-444-6777 or visiting www.recreation.gov. There is a two night minimum for weekends and a three night minimum for holidays. The maximum length of stay is 14days.
